Lebensraum
Interactive, multimedia and multisensory installation
The project 'Lebensraum' (engl. habitat) dealt with the effects of climate change on the habitat of the polar bear. The project was conceived as a multimedia as well as multisensory installation and included a narrative audio accompaniment, a tactile book, a light installation with Arduino, a video with music and a flyer.

documentation, organising
Background
The project was set up for a period of one day and it was made available to fellow students and professors for them to experience. The aim of the installation was to use dramaturgical heightening and an atmospheric turning point to raise awareness of the problems of climate change. The installation took place in the dark and consisted of several stations:
Immersive art
-
Tactile illustrated feel book, explore while listening to a narrator, experience a childlike story about a young polar bear → until the bear has to cross a field of ice floes
-
Crossing a field of ice floes created with illuminated plexiglass panels → unable to find a way out
-
Start of the video with a dramatic twist in music and images
→ with the end of the video, the experience is over, the lights go on
-
Receiving a special triangular flyer with more information about the subject matter
Team
The team consisted of four people. My area of responsibility was primarily the narrative design and the tactile book, but we also helped each other with any tasks.
